One day National level hands-on-training on Homology Modelling and Molecular Docking-Dept.of Biotechnology

PG and Research Department of Biotechnology in collaboration with Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Coimbatore Chapter,   organized One day National level hands-on-training on “Homology Modelling and Molecular Docking” at the college premises on 27.12.2017. This programme was sponsored by Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Kolkata. Principal of the college Dr. V. Balasubramaniam, inaugurated and presided over the function. This programme was organized by Dr. V. Bhuvaneshwari and Dr. R. Amsaveni, Assistant Professors in Biotechnology, Kongunadu Arts and Science College, Coimbatore. Dr. R. Subashkumar, Associate Professor and Head in Biotechnologywelcomed the gathering; Organizing Secretary of this awareness programme, Dr.V. Bhuvaneshwari Assistant Professor in Biotechnology highlighted the theme of the programme. Dr. S. Paulsamy, Dean, R & D, Dr. M. Revathi Bala, Chief Executive Officer- Incharge, Unaided courses felicitated the gathering. Special lecture on “Bioinformatics-A current scenario” was delivered by the Chief Guest of this programme Dr. P. Shanmughavel, Associate Professor, Computational Biology Laboratory, Department of Bioinformatics, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. Mr. K. Praveen Kumar and Mr. M.Gowdham, Computational Biology Laboratory, Department of Bioinformatics. Bharathiar University, Coimbatore have provided hands-on-training on “Homology Modelling and Molecular Docking. Vote of thanks was proposed by the Organizing Secretary of this awareness programme, Dr.R.Amsaveni, Assistant Professor in Biotechnology. About 100 participants including Students, Research Scholars and Faculty Members from various universities, colleges have received practical experience and use this information to develop a novel drug for their future research work.
