To inculcate human and ethical values apart from the subjects in the young minds of the students and thereby improving the total personality of the students.

History

The Department of Physics was started in the year 1973 and has crossed many milestones in its development. It has a team of dedicated staff members who are striving their best to achieve academic and research excellence. The staff strength at the inception of the course was three. But currently it has gone up to 12 due to the addition of UG and PG programmes. The Research Programme was started during 2000. Within a short span of time, the research activities have grown by leaps and bounds.

To promote advanced research in nanotechnology a 'Nanotechnology Centre' has been established in the college at the cost of Rs.75 lakhs.

Future plan

Syllabi of B.Sc & M.Sc Physics have been revamped in 2012 with reference to CSIR and UGC NET syllabi to raise the standard of the students so that they can able to come out successfully in the national & international level.

  • One of the goals of the department is to monitor the outcome of the results for further development.
  • It has been planned to introduce innovative teaching methodologies in the coming years.
  • Another future plan of the department is to equip our UG & PG laboratories with advanced experiments.
  • The ultimate aim of the department is to provide hands-on training to both UG & PG students to improve their skills.
