Faculty Achievements

1. National Symposium on “The Western Ghats – Biodiversity Conservation and Management of Ecosystems” on March 6th and 7th, 2025, in collaboration with the Zoological Society of India.  The Department of Wildlife Biology got 56 abstracts out of the symposium's total of 303 abstracts.

2. Awareness Programme of Nilgiri Tahr conservation “Message on Wheels” organized jointly with Project Nilgiri Tahr, Tamil Nadu State Forest Department on 18.02.2025.

3. An eight-day programme for Monitoring of Tigers, Co-predators, Prey and their habitat –Phase IV Monitoring and population estimation in Coimbatore Forest Division was organized for science students of various discipline both UG and PG students. Date between 2nd and 7th January, 2025.

4. Birders meet on 22.12.2024 were organized for NGOs of Coimbatore, 16 organizations were participated in the event at KASC. 

5. Seminar on conservation of Asian elephant and Nilgiri Tahr in commemoration with World Environment Day and World Elephant Day was organized jointly with Nilgiri Tahr Project, Tamil Nadu State Forest Department with the assistance of KASC – IIC on 12.08.2024. This will facilitate to promote the Wildlife Biology course.

6. “Recent Scenario on Wildlife Conservation with the support of Indian Science Congress Association, Coimbatore Chapter. As a part of Wildlife Week Celebration on 16.10.2023 at KASC. The Chief Guest Shri. S.Ramasubramanian, IFS, Field Director and Conservator of Forests was delivered a special lecture.
