EVALUATION OF THE FEASIBILITY OF USING MYCOBACTERIUM TUBERCULOSIS RECOMBINANT ANTIGENS TB-27.4, MTB-48 AND MTC-28 IN SERODIAGNOSIS OF HUMAN TUBERCULOSIS. 

Description of the Title: M. tuberculosis H37Rv, M. tuberculosis SIHV and M. bovis ORFs- Rv3878, Rv3881c and Rv0040c were PCR amplified, cloned in pRSET vectors followed by over expression in E. coli BL21 (DE3) and purified by IDA Excellose column. Significant IgG response against the recombinant proteins was observed in TB patients’ sera. This study will ultimately help in developing a highly sensitive and specific sero-diagnostic test for tuberculosis and to findout novel vaccine candidates genes for Tuberculosis. 

Cytogenetic observations in individuals with clinical suspicion of Fragile ‘X’ syndrome  

Description of the Title: Cytogenetic evaluation of the X chromosome regions to find out the Fragile X syndrome in various cell culture conditions with additives. Chromosomal aberrations (Fragile X chromosome) were observed and analyzed to diagnose the fragile ‘X’ syndrome by culturing the human leucocytes in folate deficient medium. Routine cytogenetic techniques were employed to pinpoint that cytogenetic method would be used as a gold standard method for fragile ‘X’ syndrome diagnosis along with clinical features.

 “Cloning and expression of genetically engineered putative anti-tuberculosis vaccine genes esat6, cfp10, mpt63 and mpt64”

Description of the Title: This study involved the use of genetic tools for identification of Mycobacterium tuberculosis antigenic genes which can be used as vaccine candidates for Human Tuberculosis. By using Molecular cloning, Protein Expression, Purification and ELISA, the PCR amplified candidate genes were cloned, sequenced and expressed in appropriate host and the respective proteins were isolated, purified and assayed. Highly immunogenic antigens have been identified by analyzing the recombinant proteins immunoreactivity with TB patients’ sera and healthy control’s sera as well.
