Ethnobotanical studies on Yercaud Hills, Eastern Ghats and Phytochemistry and Pharmacological studies on Ficus auriculata.

  •  The present study was carried out to enumerate the ethnobotanical plants used by Malayali tribes in Yercaud hills, Eastern Ghats, Tamil Nadu and to select one species for further in depth study.To survey the ethnobotanical knowledge of the Malayali tribes in Yercaud hills, Eastern Ghats, Tamil Nadu.
  • To collect, document, identify and categorized the collected tribal medicinal plants on the basis of their uses. On the basis of the survey a single medicinal plant species select for further studies to confirm the therapeutic properties.

Floral biology of Anisomeles malabarica R.Br.

 The floral biology of Anisomeles malabarica R.Br. was revealed by the study of floral morphology, anthesis, anther dehiscence, Pollen numbers, Pollen load, type of nectar, breeding behaviour by autogamy, geitonogamy and xenogamy was tested through controlled pollination, floral visitors and Bud drop.

• To survey and document the plant species present in Maruthamalai hills, Coimbatore
• To identify the plant species present in Maruthamalai hills
• To create a documented plant species list along with their Binomial name, family, Habit, IUCN red list status and geographic origin (Invasive and Native)
• Phylogenetic analysis of family Acanthaceae and Lamiaceae based on rbcL sequences

GIS MAPPING OF MEDICINAL PLANTS IN KURUNTHAMALAI HILLS, COIMBATORE

  •  The present study makes on explore and document folk medicinal plant knowledge among the local people in kurunthamalai hills, Karamadai, Coimbatore district and to develop spatial maps using GIS.
  •  The enumeration of medicinal plants in alphabetical order of a binomials.
  •  Each medicinal plant is described with its binomial name, local name family name, habit, part of use and method of use.
