Campus WalkThe Department of Computer Science(Aided) organized a Workshop on Prompt Engineering on 12.09.2025 with the objective of equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to effectively interact with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, particularly Large Language Models (LLMs).
The session began with a warm welcome address by Mrs. S. Vishalini, who greeted the participants and resource persons with enthusiasm.
The primary objective of the workshop was to familiarize participants with the emerging concept of prompt engineering and its role in enhancing interactions with AI systems.
Furthermore, The resource person Dr. N Sasirekha conducted an interactive session covering:
Fundamentals of prompt engineering and its significance in AI systems.
Techniques such as zero-shot prompting, few-shot prompting, chain-of-thought, and role-based prompting.
Hands-on demonstrations where participants designed prompts for content creation, problem-solving, and data analysis.
Discussions on ethical concerns, bias in AI, and responsible usage of generative technologies.
The outcomes of the programme were highly encouraging. Participants were able to gain a clear understanding of the principles and practical applications of prompt engineering. Additionally, participants acquired confidence in using AI tools productively and ethically, with a vision to integrate prompt engineering into their personal, academic, and professional workflows for improved efficiency and innovation.
The workshop concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Ansu Elsa Koshy, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science. Sincere gratitude was expressed to the resource person for sharing valuable insights and practical knowledge.
