ICMR sponsored Five Days National Workshop on Genomic and Metagenomic Approaches for Detection and Tracking of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Pathogens (NGAMR 2026)

The Five Days National Workshop on Genomic and Metagenomic Approaches for Detection and Tracking of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Pathogens (NGAMR 2026) will be held from 18th May to 22nd May 2026.

This workshop aims to provide participants with hands-on training and theoretical insights into cutting-edge genomic and metagenomic techniques used for the detection, surveillance, and tracking of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) pathogens. With AMR emerging as one of the greatest global health challenges, the workshop will highlight the role of advanced molecular tools in understanding pathogen dynamics and developing effective strategies for monitoring resistance.

Key highlights include:

  • Genomic sequencing approaches for AMR detection
  • Metagenomic analysis for pathogen surveillance
  • Bioinformatics pipelines for data interpretation
  • Case studies on AMR tracking in clinical and environmental settings
  • Interactive sessions with experts and practical demonstrations

The workshop is designed for researchers, academicians, healthcare professionals, and postgraduate students who wish to strengthen their expertise in microbial genomics and AMR research.

By the end of the program, participants will gain:

  • Practical skills in genomic and metagenomic workflows
  • Knowledge of bioinformatics tools for AMR pathogen tracking
  • Insights into global AMR surveillance initiatives
  • Networking opportunities with leading experts in the field
