Establishment:
Our College established OBC Cell for the betterment of the OBC Students. The College takes special interest in facilitating financial support to the students of these communities from the Government and Non-governmental organizations. The cell is actively functioning for the welfare of OBC students.
Objectives:
OBC Cell has been formulated in the College for the following:
To mentor the students in solving various issues in the right path. To make them familiar about various scholarships given by the State and Central Government. To inculcate confidence and make good decisions while facing OBC related problems
Activities:
To collect and circulate the information received from the State and Central Government on various aspects of education, employment of OBC Students. To communicate the information received from the State Government and UGC’s decisions on various scholarship programs for OBC students. To consider the representations received from the OBC students and necessary action will be taken to resolve the problems.

Kongunadu Arts and Science College hereby makes a statutory declaration that it exercises right to information for citizens to secure access to information under the control of public authorities, in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority, the constitution of a Central Information Commission and State Information Commissions and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto under Section 4 (1) (b) of the RTI Act 2005 as issued and amended from time to time.
The RTI act:
The Right to Information Act, 2005 (22 of 2005) has been enacted by the Parliament and has come into force from 15 June, 2005. This Act provides for right to information for citizens to secure access to information under the control of public authorities in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority. All Universities and Colleges established by law made by Parliament or by State Legislature or by notification by the appropriate Government or owned, controlled or substantially financed directly or indirectly by funds provided by the Government shall come within the meaning of a Public Authority under this Act.
Whereas, some provisions of this act have come into effect immediately on its enactment (that is on 15 June 2005), other provisions shall come into effect on 100 / 120 days of its enactment. All universities and colleges are therefore advised to carefully go through this Act and take necessary steps for implementation of various provisions including proactive disclosure of certain kind of information. Such information shall be made available to the public at large through the website by the concerned university/college. - Ragging Curb Committee

Ragging is a serious offence according to Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act 7 of 1997, an act promulgated to prohibit ragging in Educational Institutions in the State of Tamil Nadu. Criminal action will be initiated against student(s) found guilty of indulging in ragging inside and outside the College.
Punishments for those found Guilty of Ragging in the College Depending upon the nature and gravity of the offence as established by the Ragging Curb Committee of the College, the punishments for those found guilty of ragging in the college shall be any one or any combination of the following:
- Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
- Withholding/ withdrawing Scholarship/ Fellowship and other benefits.
- Debarring from appearing in any test/ examination or other evaluation process. Withholding results.
- Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.
- Suspension/ expulsion from the hostel. Cancellation of admission. Rustication from the institution.
- Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution for a specified period. Fine ranging between Rs. 25,000/- and Rs.1 Lakh.
- Collective punishment: When the persons committing or abetting the crime of ragging are not identified, the institution shall resort to collective punishment.
- Whoever directly or indirectly commits, participates in, abets or ropagates “ragging” within or without any educational institution, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years and shall also be liable to a fine which may extend to ten thousand rupees.

Staff Welfare & Grievance Redressal:
The formulation of Grievances and Redressal committee is necessitated for the welfare of the faculty in Kongunadu Arts and Science College. It has been committed to address the genuine problems and grievances of faculty to have complaint free campus. The committee has been formulated to contribute to amend the grievances effectively.
Objective:
- Ensuring the grievance free environment to faculty.
- Dealing with all the genuine grievances of students.
- Resolving the grievances at the earliest. Encouraging the faculty to express their grievances without being scandalized.
- Creating the respectable atmosphere with the surety of their right of dignity.

Students Welfare & Grievance Redressal:
Kongunadu Arts and Science College constituted a Students’ Welfare and Grievance Committee for the redressal of the problems reported by the students. To analyze the requirements of the students, the committee convenes meetings periodically. Suggestion / complaint box have been installed in many places in which the Students can drop their grievances and their suggestions.
Objectives:
- To uphold the dignity of the Institution by ensuring strife free atmosphere in the Institute through promoting cordial student-student relationship and student teacher relationship.
- To develop a platform to resolve grievances of students regarding academic and non-academic issues.
- To encourage the students to express their grievances or problems freely without any fear of being victimized.
- To ensure effective solution to the student grievances with an impartial and fair approach.
- To advise the students to respect the right of dignity of one another and show restraint and patience whenever any rift arises.
- To enlighten the students on their duties and responsibilities to access benefits due under the policies.
