College Day Drawing Competition

The Department of Costume Design and Fashion of Kongunadu Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, organized a drawing competition centered on gender equity as part of the college day celebrations. The competition aimed to engage students in creative expression while fostering awareness for “Gender Equality”.

The drawing competition took place on February 22, 2024, at 4:15 PM in Room F-10. A total of 34 students from various departments participated actively, showcasing their artistic talents and commitment to promoting gender equity through art.

Tribal Exhibition

The Tribal Exhibition held on 22nd February 2024 at Conference Hall, was a creative event organized by Staffs and Students of Department of Costume Design and Fashion. The Event started with the inauguration of the Expo by Dr. C.A. Vasugi, Our Secretaryin the presence of Dr. M. Lekeshmanasamy, Our Principal and Dr. R. Saravanamoorthy, Academic Co-Ordinator, Kongunadu Arts and Science College, Coimbatore. To create awareness about the rich heritage and cultural significance of Indian tribes.

Extension Activity-Visit to Sadhguru sevashram

The Department of Costume Design and fashion of Kongunadu Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, conducted an Extension activity on 10th February 2024 at 10.00 am at Sadhguru Sevashram, R.Spuram Coimbatore. 43 students accompanied from I, II & III B.Sc CDF by 5 Faculty members.In Sadhguru sevashram at present 33 orphan children between 3 to 22 years of age are living, Student distributed the Stationary items, Snacks and 25kg Rice to the children.

One Day Workshop on Surface Ornamentation (Aari Work)

The Department of Costume Design and Fashion of Kongunadu Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, organized a one day workshop on “Surface Ornamentation” by Ms.M. Jothi Mani, Assistant Professor, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Womens, Coimbatore for 1st  year students. The workshop was conducted on 27th December 2023 at 10.00 am to 04.00 pm in our Garment Construction lab.

BEAUTY CARE WORKSHOP

The Hands-on Beauty care Workshop held on 5th January 2024 at Textile Processing Laboratory, organized by Department of Costume Design and Fashion for III BSc CDF students with 29 Participants. The workshop aimed to provide participants with practical skills, expert insights, and hands-on experience in the  beauty care. It focused on holistic approaches to skincare, makeup, and overall well-being.

“An Awareness Program on Plastic Free Bags for Local Community”

The Department of Costume Design and Fashion has organized a Community Activity on “An Awareness Program on Plastic Free Bags for Local Community” on 4th of January 2024. . Our department students dyed the jute materials in three different colors (Pink, Blue & Orange) and the dyed material was given to stitching unit of women’s self help group to construct around 60 jute bags, In front of the conference hall at 11.00am
