Department of Mathematics - About the Department

The PG and Research Department of Mathematics is one of the most promising departments in Kongunadu Arts and Science College. The B.Sc. Mathematics Degree course was started as an aided course during the academic year 1978-1979 and 43 batches have gone out so far. M.Sc. Mathematics Degree course was started as an aided course during the academic year 1982-1983 and 39 batches have successfully gone out so far. The research programmes leading to M.Phil and PhD in Mathematics were started as self-supportive programmes during 2000-2001.  Our department  has produced  181  M.Phil and 43 Ph.D s and currently 37 students pursuing  Ph.D Programmes .Our Department offers Certificate  and Diploma Course in Vedic Mathematics, Certificate course in Advanced Excel and PG Diploma in Data Analytics from the year 2021.

• Booster classes are taken for the fast learners and Remedial Classes are conducted for slow learners.
• Every year Board of Studies meeting is conducted to update the syllabus by inviting subject experts, industrialist and alumni.
• Alumni meet is organized at regular intervals and feedbacks are collected for the betterment of the department and the institution.

• Faculties are members in various Professional and Scientific bodies.

• Organized International Conference on Current Scenario in Pure and Applied Mathematics (ICCSPAM - 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 & 2023)
