Department
  • The Department of Biotechnology is well facilitated with high end instrumental facilities through DST-FIST scheme in th year 2012 and the net worth of instruments is Rs. 31,16,550/
  • The Department of Biotechnology was provided with DBT-Star college fund in the year 2013 for providing the facilities for Under Graduate students to gain more technical skills in their core domain areas
  • Faculty of the Department has received research project funds from funding agencies like DST-SERB, UGC (Minor and Major Projects), TNSCST, State Forest Departments have funded various projects worth Rs. 55, 69,600/
  • Many research publications have been contributed by our Faculty members in various peer-reviewed International and National Journals with high impact factors and are filing patents as per the Indian Standards
  • The Department has produced 35 Ph.D's and 50 M Phil's in diverse fields
  • The Department of Biotechnology was awarded the BEST RESEARCH DEPARTMENT and OVER ALL BEST DEPARTMENT during the academic Year of 2014-15, 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017-2018, 2018-2019 by the evaluation done by the College Progress Evaluation Committee
  • The Department faculty associated with students has developed products and published patents which can satisfy the local needs
  • The Department faculty received funding from Indian Council of Philosophical Research to conduct a Periodic Lectures on the theme of "Philosophy in Ayurveda and Natural Medicine"

Department of Biotechnology collaborated with NCBS, Bangalore for Eco friendly Tricycle development
