Department of Physics - Program Offered

Eligibility : 

A candidate who have passed Higher Secondary examination with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry and Computer Science/Biology

Duration: 3 Years

Educational Objectives : 

• B.Sc Programme will help the students to understand and explain the basics in different fields of Physics. 
• It will motivate the students to opt for higher education such as M.Sc., 
• To understand the concepts and significance of various physical phenomena
• To carry out basic experiments which can be useful to understand the basic concepts in Physics and basic laws in Physics.

Program Specific Outcomes : 

After the successful completion of B.Sc., (PHYSICS) program, the students are expected to 

• Understand the applications of basic concepts of Physics in Technology
• Realize the role of Physics in day-to-day life
• Transfer their theoretical knowledge to experimental levels in laboratories
• Develop written and oral communication skills
•  Acquire various technical skills
   

Program Outcomes :

On successful completion of B. Sc. Physics Program, the students are expected to know and would be able to do upon graduation.

• Gain basic ideas of various branches of Physics
• Have the knowledge of theories involved in Physics
• Understand the fundamental ideas of experimental Physics and inculcate strong laboratory skills
• Understand the applications of basic concepts of Physics in Technology
• Realize the role of Physics in day-to-day life
• Be able to transfer their theoretical knowledge to experimental levels in laboratories

Eligibility : 

A candidate who have passed B. Sc. degree examination with Physics as Major and Mathematics and Chemistry as allied subjects

Duration: 2 Years

• To apply the theories learnt and the skills acquired to solve real time problems.
• To acquire problem solving skills.
• To acquire placement in educational institutes.
• Secure jobs in banks, schools, companies, industries, etc
• Gain wide knowledge which will enable the students to solve both theoretical and eperimental problems. 
• It will help the students to gain knowledge in Quantum Mechanics, Classical Mechanics, Mathematical Physics.,etc

After the successful completion of M.Sc., (PHYSICS) program, the students are expected to 

• Acquire a basic knowledge in various branches of Physics.
• Develop written and oral communication skills in communicating Physics related topics.
• Students will realize and develop an understanding of the impact of Physics and Science on the society.
• Apply conceptual understanding of Physics in other disciplines such as Engineering, Mathematics, Computer science and Chemistry.
• Demonstrate the ability to do advanced lab experiments that apply the principles learned in the class rooms.

• The course provide a comprehensive understanding of techniques, knowledge of Physics and apply them in research.
• It gives students with relevant experience and the opportunity to carryout focussed research in the discipline.
